Since its formation in 2019, Team Marseille Natation has transformed Marseille's swimming landscape. Born from the strategic merger of four historic clubs, this sporting alliance now spans seven pools across the city, offering everything from beginner lessons to national-level competition. Its distinctive orange and blue colors have become a familiar sight in basins from Pont de Vivaux to Alice Milliat, while innovative social programs reach autistic children, refugees, and at-risk populations.
The team proves a simple principle: unity creates strength in both sports and community engagement.
The Birth of a Swimming Powerhouse
Four clubs saw what others didn't. They understood that joining forces would amplify their voice with city authorities and expand their reach across Marseille's aquatic scene.
Sporting Club Corniche Marseille led the way as the oldest, founded in 1936. Marseille Dolfin followed in 1992, bringing its artistic swimming expertise. Celtic Marseille Natation joined in 1999, then Nage 10 in 2002. Each brought distinct strengths and training philosophies.
The merger actually started with five clubs. One left after the first year.
